I'm lucky enough to be given another opportunity to Guest Design over on the PanPastel Challenge.
The theme for the new Challenge is "Roses are a Girls Best Friend", come over and pop in your entry, the Design Team don't bite (in fact they're all rather lovely!!!)
I wanted to use this opportunity to show how PanPastels can be used to colour Paper Clay very effectively. I used the yellow and orange to colour mine and once the flowers were dry I used Copper metallic Panpastel to go over the edges as you would with gilding wax.
On the background of the tag I blended the yellow and green PanPastels and then stamped the roses from Premium Craft Brands stamp set (aptly named Roses). I then used Maimeri light modelling paste through their Spyrograph stencil to add a bit of texture, this I then hi lighted with the copper PP again. Even the ribbon was coloured with the pans.
Bird, butterfly and swirls were added along with a small stamped tag, pearls and chain to finish off.
I so enjoyed making this tag - click here to enter your project.
Beautiful! I love the gorgeous sunshine colours. Pat x
ReplyDeleteso pretty Yvonne, do you add the pan pastels to the paper clay before you make the flowers or do you paint the flowers when made?
ReplyDeleteThank you Hellen. I added the Panpastel to the paper clay but obviously as the clay is white it softens the colour so I then rubbed on more panpastel when dry to bring out the colour xxxx
